Grading Specifications
- Grading specifications based on each individual
piece.
- Knots shall not exceed one - third of the cross
section.
- Knot checks shall not exceed 2mm wide.
- Spike knots shall not exceed one-quarter of the
cross section.
- Surface checks shall not exceed 1mm wide and 100mm
long.
- Resin pockets shall not exceed 3mm wide 100mm long.

Characteristics
The following defects are not permitted under the grading
specifications of F5 Visual Appearance Grade:
- Pith is not permissible
- Sap Stain not permissible
- Brown Stain not permissible
- Heavy Resin not permissible
